Digital World

For the past 4 weeks we have been constructing a Augmented reality sandbox. We have been making it for our passion project . In one of the photo is the digital group learning how to set up an augmented reality system.I am part of the team that is building the box . We have our admins working hard on having it working for later on today

I think we took to long on the planing and that is why we only finished one table om time.
I think every body gained some team working skills while working on this project.

What makes a home earthquake proof

Earthquake-proof Buildings. One way to to make a simple structure more resistant to these lateral forces is to tie the walls, floor, roof, and foundations into a rigid box that holds together when shaken by a quake.

What was successful? the height of it won it for us and the earthquake proof was also a little successful.

What do architecture do to make super talk buildings safe? They make a good foundation.

The method which was used for conversation between themselves. They formed symbols to designate a letter and draw/paint them in a vertical way. In modern days we use letters as a way of interacting by writing letters horizontally across the page. This is how we use to interact with each other without technology having to draw symbols and write them the way the people back in the Eygiptian time did.

Curiosity topic

I wonder why fortnite is so popular:

It is popular because it is free unlike Pubg, Fortnite is fun you can do solos, duos and squads. most people like doing squads because they can have communicate and have fun with there friends. And because of battle royal games are so popular now is because there fun and enjoyable. In battle royal you jump in to a map with up to 100 other players when you land you loot up and then go and fight. Also in battle royal there is a storm it makes you push to the middle so you can not hide the hole game in the same spot, you have to stay inside the circle. Battle royal games are getting really popular now they are trying to make more battle royal games. Who ever invented battle royal would be really rich by now. So that is why Fortnite is so popular.

Testing for carbon dioxide gas

                                                 Testing for carbon dioxide gas
Aim:To show that carbon dioxide gas is produced when a metal carbonate reacts with acid
Equipment:
Method:
  1. Light your Bunsen burner
  1. Ass a 'pea-sized' amount of metal carbonate into one of the boiling tubes.
  1. place the boiling tube into a test tube rack. Ensure you have the bung and delivery tube ready
  1. Add 5 mL of acid to the boiling tube and quickly insert the bung and delivery tube into the mouth of the boiling tube.
  1. Holding the other boiling tube with your tongs, capture the gas produced as shown in the diagram below.
  1. When you think the tube is full, your lab partner should light a wooden splint
  1. Carefully remove the boiling tube from under the delivery tube, taking care to keep it facing upright
  1. Insert the burning splint into the mouth of the test tube
Observation: It took out the flameExperiment 2Method:
  1. Light your bunsen burner
  1. Add a 'Pea-sized' amount of the metal carbonate into one of the boilings tubes.
  1. Place this boiling tube into a test tube rack. Ensure you have the bung and delivery tube ready.
  1. Buuble gas into limewater

Observation: It becomes cloudy

Meatle and Acids

                                                           Testing for Hydrogen Gas
Aim: To show that hydrogen gas is produced when a metal reacts with acid.
Equipment: A test tube, A boiling tube, Bunsen Burner, Wooded splint, a bottle of acid, a piece of metal, safety glasses
Method:
1. Light your Bunsen Burner
2. Add your sample of metal to your test tube. Add 2ml of acid
3. Carefully invert the boiling tube above the test tube containing the metal and acid
4. Hold the test tubes together for a few minutes, allowing time for the inverted boiling tube to fill with gas
5. When you think the tube is full, your lab partner should light a wooden splint
6. Carefully, but quickly, tilt the boiling tube full of gas upwards and insert the burning splint into the mouth of the test tube.

Observation:

It will make a loud popping sound.

Neutralisation

Aim: To observe a neutralisation reaction

Equipment: A test tube, test tube rack, 1 mol L-1 Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate),, 1 mol L-1 HCI (hydrochloric acid), dropper or dropper bottle, Universal indicator solution.

Method: 1. Add approximately 1-2 mL of sodium carbonate and place the test tube into the test tube rack. Add 3-5 drops of Universal indicator solution
2. Using a dropper bottle, add hydrochloric acid drop by drop. be careful because adding even a small amount of extra acid can mean you'll miss the neutralisation point.

Observation: Changed to

Conclusion
Space exploration is a waste of time and money.

I reckon is is good to explore to find new planets that we might be able to live on and find other forms of life.
But the money can also be spent on saving this world first.

DNA Extraction from a Banana

DNA Extraction from a Banana

Aim: To find a Method then extract strands of DNA from a banana.

Equipment:
  • 1/2 peeled ripe banana (you can also use strawberries or other fruit)
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp liquid dishwashing soap
  • resealable zip-top bag (quart size)
  • very cold rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) placed in freezer ahead of time
  • coffee filter
  • narrow glass
  • wooden stirrer
Method:
  1. Mush the banana in the resealable bag for about a minute until all the lumps are gone and it almost looks like pudding.
  2. Fill a cup with the hot water and salt.
  3. Pour the saltwater mix into the bag. Close the bag and very gently squeeze and move the saltwater and banana mush together. Do this for 30 to 45 seconds.
  4. Add the dishwashing soap into the bag and gently mix the contents. Try to avoid making too much foam.
  5. Place the coffee filter in a clear glass cup, securing the top of the filter around the lip of the cup.
  6. Pour the mix into the filter and let it sit until all of the liquid drips down into the cup.
  7. Remove and discard the used coffee filter.
  8. Tilt the glass and slowly add cold alcohol down the side of the cup. You want the alcohol to form a layer on top of the banana mix, staying separated, so be careful not to pour it too fast. Make a layer of alcohol that is 2.5-5cm (1-2in) thick.
  9. After the alcohol layer is set up, wait for eight minutes. You may see some bubbles and cloudy material moving around in the alcohol. This is the DNA pieces clumping together.
  10. Use the wooden stirrer to start poking the cloudy stuff in the alcohol layer. Spin the stirrer it in place to start gathering the cloudy stuff. When you are done, take a closer look at the stuff on the stirrer. You are looking at DNA
